Yannis Kotsanis,  Electrical and Computer Engineering, PhD 

Yannis Kotsanis holds a PhD in Computer Engineering and Educational Technology from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He served as Head of the ICT Department at Doukas School, a K-12 educational institution, from 1987 to 2017. Currently, he is the Head of the Research and Innovation Department at Doukas School. He has an extensive experience in educational technology, having worked as a Computer Science Teacher, a Lecturer in Computational Linguistic Courses, a Lecturer in Teacher Training Courses for New Technology, and a Lecturer in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Training Courses for Information Technology in the Department of Education at the University of Patras. He has also been a Senior Research Engineer at “Computer Technology Institute”, “Pliroforiki Technognosia” company, and an internal auditor at Information Society S.A.

His current research interests include innovative education, competence and digital media frameworks, K-12 educational software, STEAM – Artificial Intelligence, and adult training. He has been a senior researcher and project manager in more than 70 national and European R&D projects and has participated in the development of over 60 educational software titles. These include projects funded by the Greek Ministry of Education, such as Telematics II, EPET II, EPEAEK, PAVET, Odyssey Program and ICT4Growth, as well as European Union-funded projects, such as Educational Multimedia Task Force, Copernicus, Leonardo, Lifelong Learning Programme, Comenius, Erasmus+, Horizon 2020 etc.

He is a trainer and instructor in undergraduate and postgraduate courses and seminars on Information Technology and Projects Development in Education. He is also the co-author of over 70 publications in Greek and international conferences and journals and has served as a reviewer of national conference committees.

He firmly believes in the three interconnected pillars of competences, values-skills-knowledge, and collaborative creations that respects oneself, others, and our earthly home… “within our borders…the ground, the water, the air”!

Γιάννης Κωτσάνης,  Δρ. Ηλεκτρολόγος Μηχανικός και Μηχανικός Υπολογιστών  

Ο Γιάννης Κωτσάνης αποφοίτησε το 1983 και ολοκλήρωσε τη διδακτορική διατριβή του το 1996 στο Τμήμα Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχ. και Μηχ. Υπολογιστών του ΕΜΠ. Από το 1987 μέχρι το 2017 ήταν υπεύθυνος του Τμήματος Πληροφορικής και Ερευνητικών Έργων των Εκπαιδευτηρίων Δούκα, και πλέον είναι υπεύθυνος του Τμήματος Ποιότητας και του Τμήματος Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας. Μεταξύ άλλων συνεργάστηκε με την εταιρία Πληροφορική Τεχνογνωσία (1993-2002) και διετέλεσε Εσωτερικός Ελεγκτής στην Κοινωνία της Πληροφορίας ΑΕ (2007- 2010). Συνεργάζεται από το 1996 με πανεπιστημιακά ιδρύματα σε προγράμματα προπτυχιακών – μεταπτυχιακών σπουδών και σεμινάρια κατάρτισης. Έχει δημοσιεύσει πάνω από 70 άρθρα και μελέτες σε ελληνικά και διεθνή συνέδρια και περιοδικά (για ποικιλόμορφες ερευνητικές εργασίες) και έχει επιμεληθεί εκδόσεις βιβλίων και πρακτικών συνεδρίων.  Έχει συμμετάσχει ως ερευνητής και υπεύθυνος έργων στην υποβολή και υλοποίηση πάνω από 60 ερευνητικών έργων (εθνικών και ευρωπαϊκών) καθώς και στην ανάπτυξη πάνω από 50 τίτλων λογισμικού, σχετικά με τις ΤΠΕ στην Εκπαίδευση. Έχει καταρτίσει παράλληλα εκατοντάδες εκπαιδευτικούς στην αξιοποίηση των ΤΠΕ στην εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία.
